Revert to Open Permanently Closed Calendar Period Status in D365
Sometimes a fiscal period may be set to Permanently closed by mistake. Normally, D365 doesn’t allow reopening such periods, but there’s a safe workaround using the ledger’s fiscal calendar setup.
Note: This method reopens the permanently closed operating periods, but it should only be used when necessary.
As per the below screenshot, we can understand that the Ledger calendar – Fiscal for Period -1 is Permanently closed.
And, when trying to Open, system is throwing an error as per the below screenshot
So, now follow the steps below to change the permanently closed period to Open
Go to General ledger > Ledger setup > Ledger.
Click on Edit.
In the Fiscal calendar field, temporarily change the calendar to a different one and click Save.
Switch the fiscal calendar back to the original one and save again.
Then Go to General ledger > Calendar > Ledger calendar.
Here, users can find the permanently closed period changed to open state.
