Actual Acquisition Date for migrated fixed assets

Actual Acquisition Date for migrated fixed assets

Introduction

This Actual Acquisition Date for migrated fixed assets feature is available in 10.0.46 version.

Purpose

This feature introduces a new field called Actual acquisition date to record the original acquisition date of fixed assets that are migrated from legacy systems. It helps organizations maintain historical asset information after data migration.

Overview

When assets are migrated from a legacy system, the Acquisition date in Dynamics 365 may represent the migration date rather than the asset’s original purchase date.
The Actual acquisition date field allows users to capture the true historical acquisition date of the asset for reference purposes.

Business Benefits

  • Maintains historical accuracy of asset records after migration.
  • Improves audit trail and reporting visibility.
  • Separates system acquisition date from the original purchase date.

First, User needs to enable Actual Acquisition Date for migrated fixed assets feature in feature management.
